Motor revs fine on my kawasaki 400 but try to ride and it dies anybody know problem this is a 1989 zxr

Also check the side stand switch disconnect it

Being a 4 stroke 1st thing to look for is spark plugs.Get them checked properly.Its the most likely problem.Next.Water in the fuel.1 litre of metho to 20 litres of fuel.Drain the bottom of the carbies 1st then check what drains out.A bit of **** in a jet will also make the bike play up.Rev the bike to above 6000 revs,slam the choke on and off 2 -3 times.Because the air is rushing into the engine at a huge rate,the choke will stop this and only let fuel in.It SOMETIMES clears a blocked jet.Mate.I hope this helps

I have zxr 750 h1 and rebuilt the carbs but when they get close too balance the revs drop and dies the further out of balance they are the higher the revs are i did a stage one dyno jet conversion on

Someone been "porting" them? Smart alec filing the ports thinking "oh, I will smooth those burrs off, thats good" - inadvertently altering the cubic cm and thus mixture is all to cock?

Cnt seem 2 find any throttle cables 4 my bike /my modle 1989 zxr400??? are all ov these zxr,s throttle cables the same size an ball size at the ends ?? can i just by the L model cabel an the riGHT hand...

All ZXR400s use the same throttle cables
I'm not sure about the twist grips but any should fit

Every rider and ride is different. It depends on the rider and the type of riding you are doing. High speed riding reduces your range. If it needs tuned up you get fewer kms per tank. If you are hammering it you will get fewer miles, etc.

Try refittin the old cdi box. If it works then the new cdi box may be dead.
