Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, try with the sidestand folded up and / or the clutch lever pulled in. Likewise determine if there is a clicking sound when the start button is pressed:
It is of course assumed that the battery is fully charged and that the battery cablles/connectors are clen and tight. Postback result(s) of tests.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
the side stand switch has been by passed & removed, when i press the starter button there is nothing happening, lights, horn & battery are ok, i have crossed the 2 terminals on the solenoid, the engine turns over but doesn't fire up.
hello again, where are the safety interlocks situated please.....i will let you know of the results when i try again tomorrow

I have a 1997 Suzuki Bandit (600), I tried jump starting it and cross the positive and Negative to the battery. I understand i blew a fuse and replaced it. It still did not start. I then replaced the coils and igniter. it still did not start. i was getting charge to the coils but not to the spark plugs. I use the same battery that was cross fire. would this make my suzuki not start?
Hi,
I had a similar issue with my '97 1200. Every couple of weeks would go to start it (sometimes after being ridden) and no click as you described.
It was blowing the fuse that powers starter motor and it turned out that a dodgy starter button was blowing the fuse. These are generally soldered in, so I replaced the RH switch gear for 25 second hand...
Job done!!!
Hope this helps
Dave
