SOURCE: kawasai z750, keeps blowing main fuse

Hi,

To my knowledge, there are no onboard electrical/electronic components capable of shorting and blowing the fuse with out blowing any of the secondary fuse. The main fuse could possibly blow due to a short in the wiring or an exposed/frayed wire touching the body. The three most likely areas would be:

  • wire harness leading to the regulator;
  • wire harness leading to the fusebox; and/or
  • wire harness leading to the ignition switch.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: electrical problems

Ok good luck finding a wiring diagram to do this! Also this i a very bad idea if you manage to bypass the fuse box as your bike will then become a fire risk if you have some sort of short while riding your low amp wires will melt which will then melt the higher amp wires and add a bit of heat and oxygen and you have yourself one burning GPZ 1000

SOURCE: Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic - no spark

sounds to me you knott out the recketfier ... when you blow the fuse at also sent to much power to it. but also sounds like you have a bad ground wire.

SOURCE: 00 kawasaki ninja zx6r my bike don have no power,

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

I understand that you have checked the:

  • battery - that it is fully charged and that the cables & terminals / connectors are clean and tight;
  • fuses - including the 30 Amp main fuse;
  • starter relay - there is +12 on the white wire.
Should the above hold true, then the only remaining components to suspect / check would be the always on +12 connectors and/or the ignition switch.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Starter suddenly stopped engaging. could it be a relay switch

check fuses, it could be the relay, if it checks out ok, then the starter solonoid could be @ fault, FUSES FIRST, RELAY 2nd, STARTER/SOLONOID LAST, make sure battery & terminals ok, cleaned, tight, etc., battery must be fully charged ! you should have a relay box under hood.

Check the main wire from the battery to the interior fuse panel. There is a fusible link in the blue wire. Check for power on the other side of that link. Also check your ground wire from the engine to chassis or from the battery to the chassis.

My 2005 ford ranger a/c is not working all the sudden, could it be a fuse?

My AC quit all of a sudden and it was a switch in the ac line. It was located on one of the air conditioner lines almost next to the firewall. Looked like a little box. When the p/u was running and the ac was turned on, I tapped it with a screwdriver handle and the ac compressor came on. I think it was a low pressure switch and is supposed to keep the ac from running without any freon, so you might try that. Best of luck.<!-- from fixya rte -->

Horn stopped working, radio stopped working, interior light won't come on, changed fuses still nothing

all of these things probably run off the same fuse if all of the fuses are OK the next thing to check is the wiring,there may be a loose wire or connection I dont know what fuses you have checked the main fuse box is under the hood but you may find one under the dash as well sometimes a fuse looks OK but it has a break in it that is hard to see if you have a continuity tester use that to check, it may be the accessories fuse that you need to check......hope this helps.....cheers

Lost all power all of a sudden 1977 corvette

do you know what fuse links are,and what they look like? usually down at the starter,the 2 or 3 hot wires besides the main battery cable all connect they feed the power to the fuse box,ignition and accessories,they have black square rubber blocks on them usually 3 or 4 inches from the starter they are built in fuses in the wires themselves check continuity throught them,if you already know about them ,the head light switch and the ignition switch are the first place i would look ,especially if they are original

Blower stopped working.

Heater blower motor resister is bad, or blower motor its self is bad. Run 12 volts from an outside sourse to blower motor, if it runs its resister if not its blower motor.
