2008 suzuki bouledvard c90t, the battery terminals melted

I bought the bike used back in June it had about 11,000 miles. I rode the bike with no issues till about two months ago. The battery died and so I removed it to charge. When I put the battery back in it was still totally dead so i replaced it. The bike fired right up and had no issues for about a month, then while riding it started like surging I'd be riding and the spedometer would jump 5-10mph without actually increasing the speed. I didnt think much of it just chaulked it up to loose wiring a couple days leater i went to start the bike and it turned but wouldnt start. So i tried to fire it up again the battery started smoking, it melted the positive terminal. so I replaced the positive wire and battery and it was fine rode it a couple times and it did it again. so im not sure what to do any help would be good I cant just keep puttin new batteries in gotta find the source of the problem

SOURCE: battery does not hold charge new battery fitted

Sounds like a charging issue. First check all wires and make sure they are clean and making good contact, then check for proper voltage at the battery. I ride a harly so I don't know the exact voltage to look for but it most likly is around 13V at the battery if it isn't you need to look at your voltage regulator and stator.

2005 Suzuki Boulevard C90T quit running while riding

Classic failure that I have experienced twice now while riding a 2007 Suzuki C90. Both times the bike went totally dead electrically while going down the road. In both cases, I sent a fellow rider off with my battery, to buy a battery that fit. That's how I got home, with the ignition system running off of the battery alone. The old battery was the first bad actor. It shorted out internally causing the regulator rectifier to call for max amps from the stator, burning the stator up...melting windings...both times. Replace the battery with a high quality battery, and replace the stator and rectifier/regulator with top end stuff...like Ricks Motorsports. Yes it costs three times as much, but it handles three times the wattage. Don't go back with OEM parts like I did the first time. It will fail again just after the warranty expires.

I haven't rode my 2008 honda cbr 1000 for 6 months and when I got it back from storage where I winterized my bike and took the battery off of the bike. the battery level was %20. it is 700 miles on it....

batteries do lose charge if connected and not running for a while. when in storage you should disconnect the battery. specially if the storage area isn't heated.

hope this helps.

Suzuki GSX250EX wont start

that sounds like a timing issue with the back fire, also check coil wires.

New Bike Serviced Required??

Sounds about right. Most bilkes need the valves adjusted every 3-4000 miles. 3 hours also sounds right and you can check around to get a better hourly shop rate.

2006 suzuki boulevard won't start

There is s little plastic plunger switch attached to the cluth lever (on the handlebar). If this plunger doens't move when you squeeze the clutch it won't start, as this little micro switch is the safety switch.
The other issue for those of us in the north is if moisture gets into this switch and freezes, it separates the switch. Just plug it back in and you are good to go.

Battery termanals coming lose

this time there was alot of smoke coming from under the seat. I found the Start Mod had a melt down. Now I'm still waiting for part to come. Has anybody had a similar issue? The bike is an'06 TT with only 710 miles. I bought it used with 660 mile on it.Let me start by saying that someone is not getting the the battery terminals tight to begin with. These are just bolts not Ridley bolts and should be tightened as you would tighten any bolt. If you find that bolts are continually getting lose there is a product called Loc-tite that can be applied to the threads to prevent loosening. The smoke is a different matter. Generally when this happens we find aftermarket lighting or changes in the original wiring. You now need to see a mechanic,
