Oil drain plug for tw yamaha 08

Hello. On the left side a big 19size screw with wide skirt. You cant miss it. It is the biggest srew down there. Let me know if you are not sure, I`ll send a picture. One more thing. Be careful when loosing it. Under the screw is a spring and a mesh filter, it will pop out once the screw is out.

Ive just put a drive new chain and sprocket kit on

Normally that is the sound of a loose chain. You may need to tighten the chain. If you are close to the maximum adjustment you will need to remove a link or two. If unfamiliar with removing links and half links, it would be best to have a dealer do the chain work.

Yamaha tw 125

The noise you hear is valve clatter. You should not adjust your timing chain. Instead get a manual and find the vlave clearances for that bike. (Ex. The exaughst valve may be .006" and the intake valve may be .004") Then you'll need a feeler gauge, and to do this you'll remove the valve covers and get the engine to TDC (Top Dead Center) This is where the piston is at the very top of it's stroke and both valves are shut. (compression stroke) You must then loosen the rocker arm nut to the point that you can insert the feeler gauge between the rocker arm and the top of the valve run the nut down tight to the feeler gauge and then pull gauge out and repeat on the other valve.

Yamaha tw. noise from engine

Check and reset (if needed) the valve clearances. With the engine cold, set the intake to .002 and the exhaust to .003. Is the cam chain tensioner set properly? Burn premium gas and install a new NGK spark plug one heat range colder than stock to lessen any possible pre-ignition. Are there any signs of wetness, oil or blackish discoloration on the base of the cylinder head? > A blown head gasket can make a ticking sound also.

Please rate this solution. Thanks Kenneth!

Valve clearances for a tw125

I have solved the problem myself by buying a workshop manual for the bike. A waste of money as the bike will be sold as soon as the problems are sorted. I only needed the valve clearances for it. Thanks for not helping at all.

you say there is a noise on the valve , do you mean the inlet and exhaust valves ? if they are making a jingelly tappy noise then they do need adjusting ! does 1st to third gears rev to near enough max revs in each one or do the faulter and miss ? if miss then have the carb and fuel tank cleaned as well as the adjustment of valves ! exhaust could be choked up also if you only do town runs also , may need decoke of exhaust port and exhaust system !
