1996 Suzuki GSF 1200 Bandit S Questions & Answers
Bandit has trouble starting after bike has had a run new battery fitted could it be the starter
sounds like your battery is not charging wich leads to your alternator/stator plate simple test is fully charge the battery start your bike then with a multi-meter check the voltage accross the + and - terminals if it is getting current it should read about 14,2 volts if your getting just 12 volts then thats your problem...check all terminals connecting stator ie wd 40 them and reconnect them and test again if all else works then a replacement stator :)
I have just fired my bike up 1200 bandit and there is a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust i thought it would burn off but it keeps doing it and cutting out
Ok I have one of these. They are not water cooled so it's not steam from a leaky head gasket,it would by be oil unless it's bluey coloured smoke.if it was too rich ie choke stuck on or blocked air filter you would have black smoke.so I would say it's one of two things.you have either put some diesel in it as that smokes grey and fouls the plugs making it misfire and cut out or the small drain hole in the left hand side of the fuel filler cap well has blocked up and you do have water in the fuel.drain the carbs via the drain screws on the bottom of the float bowls and catch it in something,if there is water in it it looks like jelly in the petrol.Ok good luck ps that's a man's bike.;0)
Won't start?
Check for loose battery connections or corroded connections. Check also for a loose ground wire to frame or engine block. If they all seems fine make sure your battery is fully charged and if so check fuses. Think simple first then go up the line for bigger problems. Hope this helps.
Motorcycle will not start
Starter works
This is very odd. Your starter sounds fine but the engine will not turn over. It sounds to me like your 'bendix' or the device used to engage the starter to the fly wheel of the engine is defective and/or not engaging for some reason.
The frist thing I would check is the battery voltage. It should be at least 11.5 V dc and hopefully more. There is no problem with the start solenoid, you say the start motor is running presumably when you press the switch. Remove the starter and examine the 'bendix'. There may be a shear pin involved or you may find there are no teeth on the gear.
Can you 'push start' the bike? Is there a posibility the engine is frozen? If the engine is frozen you have a lot of other concerns which must be resolved before the starter issue can be resolved.
I hope this sheds some light on your problem - Thank you for your interest in FixYa.com
I am receiving email's from
I would sign into PayPal, close the card account and tell them why then as you already have done tell your bank. If the spam is comming from one site, tell the police fraud squad and bar that address from your account.
The police will advise further if needs be.
My digital speedometer keeps "rebooting"
I would check the connectors that supply power to the speedo.
Also check the fuses and earth points.
The fact you are loosing time is a sign power is going off.
