Firing order installation of spark plugs

plugs are plugs and thats it.Do you mean the distributer wire leading to the plugs ? If so I hope you have a manual or can look it up on line. If you get it straightend out then change one plug and it's wire at a time so you won't have to do this again.

There is a tic-toc noise

The shift drum would not make any noise, ever. The drum will outlast all of us. All it does is move clockwise and counterclockwise as the rider pushes the shift lever up or down as needed. Go to an empty parking lot or roadway and start out slowly in 1st gear, slowly gaining speed. Does the knock show up? Now go into 2nd gear and slowly gain speed. Is the knock there? Do the same for all the gears. If the knock is only in one or two gears the problem is a broken gear tooth. When the broken gear is replaced, also replace any other gear the broken gear meshes with. Whatever broke the tooth also put the same pressure on the meshing tooth. If the meshing gears are not replaced you will have the pleasure, ( and expense ), of doing the repair all over again when the cracked tooth on a meshing gear decides to break off. This usually happens within the first hour of riding the "fixed" bike. If the test shows no knock in the gears, then chances are the knock is a cam chain needing to be tightened. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_175.gif

Not able too down shift gears from 3 too 1 on my

hello had a atv that did this, atv had set for a while, went to ride it, had all gears, went to downshift , to first, stopped then took off again, only had first gear then second no other gears, i tried everything, all different kind of oil additives, they never worked, more than likely, my atv had set for a while and the shifter fork inside the motor had rusted just a little bit, the gear had got stuck , i had to split the motor cases, to fix mine, make sure your shifter isnt stripped out, maybe it needs adjusting, i have seen people tap on the gear shifter sometimes and it would break loose, some atv mechanics, say to ride it, eventually it will come unstuck, or break the case in half to fix shifter fork and gears....

There are a series of manuals for this model, but not exactly yours, you should get enough information from them to complete your task.

I have recently had the

The only connection that comes to mind is that due to placing sometimes the clutch has to be removed to replace the alternator. In that case while fitting the clutch not proper adjustments were made resulting in the clutch not disengaging the bike from the engine when pressed to change gears. It is only under such conditions that the clutch and the gears make a noise. All it needs is a little more adjustment of the clutch. Do it or get it done as the bike was repaired recently and this was their duty.

'Sticky' gearbox on 2004, 1200 Bandit

Have had the smaller brother of this bike, here is what I found, try using 10W40 full synthetic oil, make sure the clutch is adjusted exactly right, if that doesn't help the engagement dogs are worn and u need an overhaul, which isn't that hard, about 10 hours work and $200 in parts.

I had the same thing happen. It's a problem with the starter clutch and how it's attached . A primary bolt is loose. Be sure to have your mechanic use some locktite or really wrench it on there tight--my guy fixed it and then the same thing happened again 10 mos later. But it hasn't happened again in the several years since then. Good luck.

Bandit has trouble starting after bike has had a run new battery fitted could it be the starter

sounds like your battery is not charging wich leads to your alternator/stator plate simple test is fully charge the battery start your bike then with a multi-meter check the voltage accross the + and - terminals if it is getting current it should read about 14,2 volts if your getting just 12 volts then thats your problem...check all terminals connecting stator ie wd 40 them and reconnect them and test again if all else works then a replacement stator :)
