1993 Ducati M900. On cold start up low power.

if the plugs look ok and don't indicate a fuel mixture problem, it could be from a weak spark. You can check the resitance on your coil and plug wires with an ohm meter to see if they are within factory specs. Also, check for a possible vacuum leak around the carb & cylinder head on the cylinder that is missfiring. You can do this with some carb cleaner, spray it around the carb mount and vacuum lines---if the RPM's change it sucked some in. Hope this helps.

Sitting for while pulled carbys

sounds like your running lean. start with your main jet/needle adj. make sure the bike is pulling hard the WHOLE way to red. after you have that you can work the pilot jet and air fuel screw. Now do you have your air fuel screws 2 half turns out from dead bottom make it one full turn, or 2 full turns and one half from dead bottom. if you have not installed a jet kit there is where you need to start. and please dont forget to sync your carbs when your done.
If you can give me the jet sizes, needle settings and air/fuel screw setting. and we will get this worked out

The gas has probably gone bad. Drain it, put fresh in it and add 2 ounces of sea foam per gallon to clean any junk left over by the old gas.

Starter motor

I wrote to this last week but it looks like my letter got sent out to space. The book says to check a bunch of stuff in the line to make sure your starter is the culprit, but I take it , it works, you just want it off. Remove the crank cover on the left side, line up the starter ring holes with the bolts, don't forget the wires, that's it.

Ducati starter motor

I have 2 monsters in my barn right now, the starter motor is, well is not the easiest. First, is it the starter gone bad or the relay? Check the fuse. Then check the relay, bottom right of the air filter housing, rubber mounted, make sure it cliks when the key is on and the starter button is hit, then check the battery, make sure it is good, then if all this checks out, check the wiring. If it is still a bad starter, remove the crank case cover on the left, rotate the starter gear to align the bolt, unscrew the 3 bolts, and replace the gasket when putting in the new starter. Don't forget to take the battery negative off, and wire on the starter motor. Good luck.
