You may be low on Oil. When was the last time you did the oil change?

Unless it is specified, you may have an uphill battle.

i replaced my SV650 horn weakest squeaky thing with a Hootaz horn now so loud it is great. Hootaz come in pairs I just fitted one. Cheap, easy fit and works so well.

clean connections, 2 leads. check for breaks in wires and take your horn off and connect it directly to the battery. if it works then u know its button, or wire prob. wd 40 is a good tool. good luck.

Check with ohm meter the horn button to see if it is good or not. Do this by hooking ohm meter to the wires coming off the button, then press the button, it should show ohms or beep the meter if your meter can check with sound. Could be a broke wire between the horn and button. Check fuse. Or check the horn to see if good.

Under the cover on the left side of the crankcase.

Sounds like a faulty connecting rod at it's beginning. This knocking will escalate with use to louder knocking.Take off the cylinder head's cover, the camshafts and the chain tensioner to check them for damage. If they are ok it would be wise to proceed to an overhaul repair and check everything inside and replace the connecting rod with a new one.
