Rpm on my 1995 dodge intrepid is extremely high. when only doing 30 car is already up to 5rpm

Sound like transmission not shifting
could be faulty transmission shift selennoid
have the transmission look at
also was the transmission in drive or low gear

    Thanks didn't know I would get a reply but the vehicle was n drive! Not only is the rpm high sometimes it want even move until I have hit 7 or 8 on rpm meter! I've cleaned throttle body and iac and tps! I was told that it might b the air charge sensor not sure though! First car I ever worked on and I tell u I'm sure learning a lot

Where is the fuel pump relay located on the firewall of a 1995 dodge intrepid
In the trunk under the mat right behind rear seat . watch when you take it loose it is spring loaded and will pop-up quickly. Also requires consiterable pressure to push the new one in place. I have done this already.

After replacing the TPS, is there still a fault code? Is the TPS installed correctly? What color is the trans fluid, is it clean and no contaminated?

Why is my 1995 dodge intrepid not picking up speed when climbing a hill; yet when I get to the top to descend it picks up speed?
there is a lot to be said and we will have to go back and forth step one is to do the basics tune up - fuel filter - injectors cleaned if you have already done this go to Auto Zone or a parts store and have them pull any codes and write me back and we will go from there. this is a driveability issue and we must do systematically in steps thank you for using FixYa, Lee Davidian

1995 dodge intrepid wont start in extreme cold
If it won't turn over it's your battery. If it cranks but won't start you probably have condensation in your fuel.
Replacing the battery is simple.
Add gasline antifreeze to the car the night before. This will eliminate the moisture and freezing.
Once you get it going add another bottle of injector cleaner.
If you have a block heater by all means plug it in..
