I changed the ignition switch in my 2003 chevy monte carlo I did the 3 11 min steps and still wont try to start any suggestions

Is the security light flashing? Did the light respond to your 3/10 attempts. Make sure the battery is fully charged then just try to start. Many times while changing the switch the door stays open add to that your attempts to start and the battery will have enough current to run the starter but nothing left for ignition and fuel injectors. I hope this helps. Take care.

The battery died on my 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo and after the first time I jumped it and drove it around a little to try and charge the battery, the Security light came on. After I parked it and turned it...

Im pretty knowledgable in the whole SECURITY light issue... I dont think this could cause the door lock to not work correctly, but anything is possible. Newer cars are wound up pretty tight. Here is a link to help understand how the security works.

I'd go ahead and do a "security relearn" on you car. It might help if that is what caused the door issue.
Turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) Turn back your key to regular position and check the door lock. May have to do this process 3x

I have 2003 Monte carlo when its hot outside and sun beating down on it, I turn the key and nothing happens. I have to try several times then it starts.

Next time this happens, check out the dash and see if there is a light on somewhere that says SECURITY. When the anti theft begins to fail, it can disable your starter making the ignition seem like its doing nothing. If you see the security light when this happens then id say 100% that this your problem. This link explains it and gives you some DO IT YOURSELF fix it options. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

2004 montie carlo: light on dash saying door ajar, dome light stays on, power locks go nuts, the ding ding noise all coming on. Any ideas?

This could be a loose earth for the door harness, broken/chaffed wiring in the door jam (hinge area). Or as simple as a defective locking solenoid (Door Catch Assembly). Some investigation in these areas will be needed. Hope this helps...

01 monte carlo securty & battey light problm

I had the same problem. Also, "service traction system" warning light, "service engine soon", and "trac off" warnings. Audio system locks every time the voltmeter goes flat. I expected an expensive repair bill. On a hunch, I pulled both battery terminals, scrubbed all points of contact vigorously with a wire "toothbrush" and baking soda paste. (They didn't look like they needed it at all) Reconnected, tightened securely, started engine , and everything is back to normal. Zero cost, 10 minutes of your time.
