SOURCE: 1993 volvo 850 heater blower works sometime tell me why?

These models had problems with the blower motor power stage, which is what controls the fan speed, and the blower motors wear out. There a good chance it needs both!

Hello,
Have you made sure the rotor is turning in the distributor, as this sound like a cambelt failure.
Sorry to bear bad tidings if this is so.

SOURCE: code stereo volvo 1993 850 GLT

If you need the security code, you need to call a Volvo dealer and give them the VIN number, provided it is the same stereo the car came with.  Most dealers will do it for free, if you can't find one, call Boston Volvo Village.

SOURCE: I have Volvo 1993 850 GLT odomters salvaged from the junk

On the right side of the odometer there is a round silver motor that is held on with 2 phillips screws. Remove that and you can access the gear pod and manually spin it to where you need it.

1993 Volvo GLT 850 Electrical things won't work

I'd be taking the dash apart looking for burnt wires in a harness, so you will likely have to take the outer cover off some of the bundles. Start tracing back from the plug in for the radio. Hope this helps.
