My Chevy 5 cyl. Colorado stalls after going just a short distance. This happens after it sits over night. I tried turning the key to on for a few minutes before starting with some success. After it stalss a couple of times its ok for the day unless it sits awhile. Seems like the fuel line looses its fuel or something. Any ideas on what this could be?

If cycling the key helps its likely you need a fuel pump. Need to test pressure at the injector rail. There is a check valve in the pump that prevents gas from backflowing into the tank when engine not running. Cycling the key activates the pump pushing fuel to the motor. The stalling could be inadequate fuel pressure under load. Thats why the pressure test is needed.

Seems like the fuel line looses its fuel or something. ????? That would cause a no start or hard start problem . Your best bet , have it diagnosed by a repair shop . That is unless you want 20 different answers on here . Are you willing to replace parts your vehicle doesn't need . Testing is the only way find the problem , not guessing , that's all you'll get on here . Hooking up a professional type scan tool an checking sensor data parameters to see what is a miss . Doing fuel pressure testing ,hooking up a pressure gauge .

Try cleaning the throttle body. remove the big black air hose and with the engine OFF, hold the throttle open and see how the throttle plate is black. it should be a smooth transition. Carbon ring starves the engine for air at idle, especially when it is warm outside.

2006 chevy colorado cranks over but wont start

2005 Colorado 4x4 stick shift – I had the same thing happen and it had to do with the passlock system – it will keep your truck from starting for approximately 10 minutes, yes you will have to wait and let it sit- if you try to start it will just turn over forever. On my truck the solution was to change my starting procedure, I now keep the truck in neutral-turn the key all the way for a few seconds and then push in the clutch- it starts every time. If you have an automatic I don’t know..
