My 2011 Nissan Sentra makes a slight creaking noise whenever I back out of parking spaces by turning the steering wheel to the extreme right or left. Specifically, the noise comes after I start rolling forward as I'm straightening out my wheels, not while I'm actually backing up and turning the steering wheel. Is this normal?

Is the creaking coming from the front or rear of the vehicle? if its in the front, it could be a bad strut. 2011? the vehicle should be under manuf. warranty. take it into the dealer and they should fix it for free and even put you in rental car if the vehicle has to stay for an extended period of time. make sure you are under 36,000 miles for the manuf. warranty to apply. good luck!

I have a 2011 Nissan Sentra. It has developed a loud hum and vibration to the steering wheel from the front end .it has 180,000km. Any ideas?

How are the tires? New? Old? Rotate them and see if noise goes away. Possibly front wheel bearing in the front drive axle where it goes thru the hub and rotor.......goes the noise get worse if you turn right or left slightly when driving it? If it gets worse on one side that is the side with the bad bearing.....replace as needed.

When turning the steering wheel to the extreme end either to the left or right, hear a sequeaking noise.

How long have you owned the car before discovering this noise? Have you replaced the tires recently? I'm not sure what your squeaking noise sounds like exactly, but it sounds like it could be one of the two problems. If it sounds kind of like rubber squealing your tires may be the wrong size for your car and at extreme steering degrees the tires can rub on the car in a number of places. If the squealing sounds more internal like a muffled tea kettle and you can feel it through your hands (even slightly) while holding the wheel it's probably your power steering. If your power steering fluid isn't low then you make want to get your power steering pump checked. This is always better than waiting until your power steering pump goes out on you while you are driving down the highway (usually happens in the middle of a curve). I can personally tell you that one is no fun at all! :)

There is a noise coming from the right-front wheel area during a left turn. It almost sounds like a tire-rub on the inner wheel-well cover, but it also makes this same noise when stationary while turning...

I had this same problem and the dealer could not reproduce the noise when I would take it in to get looked at. (during the day when the temperature was warm) So I decided to leave it over night and they test drove it in the morning when the temperature was cold and they heard the noise. It ended up bing the steering rack.

I hear a growling noise in the steering wheel every time I turn a corner, back up and turn the wheel, or turn into a parking space. Most of the time it is when I turn the wheel to the left. All fluids have...

Yes. Hi. the plastic trim around the base of the steering wheel and the steering column have an imperfection in one area that causes them to rub in a certain spot every time, are out of place slightly or are for some other reason making contact and creating a noise. Get right down there and turn the wheel and look for a rub. When you spot it use a sharp razor blade knife to trim it a wee bit. J.
or, you have an issue with the steering shaft somewhere.

Popping noise

Inner tie rods could make the same noise your describing. Do this......with your car in park and at idle, slightly turn you wheel from left to right, just a slight ****. 1/16 of a turn. Increase the pace from left to right, then slow down the pace. You should feel a bump in the steering wheel almost like something is tapping it. If so, have your inner and outer tie rods checked. Actually, have the steering gear checked also for leaks and wear.
