Did you smell the oil? Make sure it does not smell like anti freeze. Also check under the car for leaks. Check floor mat could be heater core. Also check the hose that goes from the resivoir to the radiator. Have the code read at an autoparts store it is probably emission related

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that leaks fluid under the car. Took it to Sport Durst. Told them about the leak and that it sounds like water flowing through the dashboard. My low coolant light was

Put a large piece of light paper under the cars or truck motor area and let it set overnight. In the morning see what color the fluid is. Put your finger in the fluid that has leaked if any is there and see if it feels like water or oil. Coolant could be orange or green depending on the type you use. Coolant can sometimes be confused with transmission fluid. Check the water hoses that go into the dashboard for leaks. Also check for dampness on the passenger side of the front seat on the carpet area. If it is wet it is your heater coil that has a leak. Hope this hopes.

are you mixing the coolant with water if yes,you need to just put straight up anti freeze ,because water evaporates at high temperatures .. also keep resorvoir full at all times there is a sensor in the tank that when is low it makes the check coolant light come on ,,....good luck

The light came on looks like a pipe of some sort and the screen keeps saying coolant low.

I don't know what the 'pipe' means but if the coolant low screen comes up, I would add some coolant (50/50 concentration coolant to water) to the overflow reservoir or to the radiator, whichever is easier for you.

If it is a false coolant low indicator, then I wouldn't worry about it unless the engine overheats or runs too hot.

Good luck on this repair.

Low coolant light came on. Last year had cylinder head gasket replaced when having same warning light.

low coolant light will also come on if you have an air lock in the water system, take of the clip on the highest hose, and fill from this point.any air in system will be obvious.

My dad put a new thermostat in my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is now telling me my coolant is low and it is not. I just need to know how to reset this.

your low level sensor may be stuck sometimes a light tap on the sensor will repair the issue, make sure your coolant level is ok in the radiator and the overflow tank

Coolant low light came on?

you have a overflow container that ties into your radiator it should be white plastic with black cap check the level and fill with straight antifreeze up to the fill line not the top but if it is already full and you have low coolant in the radiator then you most likely have a bad water pump this is if the light is acurate and not malfunctioning

Coolant light comes on for a few minutes, then goes off

Coolant level is low.
Check coolant level in the resivoir when vehicle is cool. Do not remove radiator cap especially when vehicle is hot, You could be badly burned.
