1998 Daewoo Lanos. The car just started to misfire while I'm driving and then it just goes back to normal for about a km and misses again. Please help thank you.

There are various ideas here, but the only way to be sure is to have an auto electrician connect a pro grade scan tool computer and take it for a run. The scan tool can record what happens when it starts to misfire.

My Lanos Daewoo 1997 automatic model is consuming about 6 kilometer per 1 liter which is too much compared to average of 10 kilometer per liter How can I go about remedying this problem

new plugs and air filter ,is my first solution but as its a auto then it could be the gearbox slipping which would be caused by the front clutch in the box worn ,also the autochoke could be stuck on causing excesive fuel consumption ,in the uk in the old days we had lots of mechanics stories of women pulling the manual choke out to hang the handbag on ,or american tourists driving in first gear as they didnt know how to change gear .,Or the old man with reumatism driving with his foot on the clutch .Try the air filter first

Hi we live in lanzarote and are thinking of buying a second hand daewoo lanos with 49k on the clock privately owned not a hire car can anybody advise as to reliability of this model , much appreciated...

Few problems, check for noisy engine and uneven tyre wear, generally not a bad cheap car but they depreciate quicker than apple falling from a tree! So make sure it is a good deal.

Good luck davelee
