Have a 99 disco....I had to take the gear selection control box, underneath the center consol. There isa switch that came loose that interfaces with the brake and ignition to start the car. Also there is a selenoid in the box that could go bad. also could be a bad brake switch. Try pushing the gear shift foward in park while cranking, if it cranks then the gear selection switch is bad. The problem is between the key switch and the starter....trace it down. Also you can buy cheap a LR repair disc.

You have an anti-theft system problem , the car think's it's being stolen . You using the right key ? Have a different key on same key ring ? Take the key off the key ring an try it . We know how you lady's have bunches of keys an thing's on your key ring . If that's not the problem you will need to have towed to a repair shop an have the DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code checked . An see what they say the problem is .

Battery dead

You need to hook the alarm back up and do a reset on the car.

Here is how you do it.

1) Turn factory original key to "ON" position for 5 seconds
2) Turn key to "OFF" position.
3) Repeat 1 and 2 again. Do it twice.
4) This should reset the computer to the chip inside the key.

If that didn't work,You will need to have the codes downloaded at the dealer.

Alarm and imobiliser on a discovery 300tdi

before you cut or rewire the alarm, when welding the disco although disconecting the battery protects the battery, the imobiliser holds current, this my have gone into system factory setting, so it my be worth getting the imob and key re-conected, this is a cheap job at any Landrover specialist. hope your running smooth soon

1990 toyota camry won't start

Usually if you hear the starter solenoid click but the starter doesn't crank, its the starter. And since it was after a trip that is usually when starters are bad when they get hot.
