it may only leak when driving..when the pressure increases. this leak could be internal as well as in a head gasket. fill it up and let it idle and get up to temp and check for leaks then.(never remove the rad cap from a hot engine)
Look for a dislodged Air conditioning drain hose. This hose sometimes gets kicked off by a passengers foot. The hose is a jamb fit. It is typically black, about 1/2 in diameter.
my van was loosing coolant ,the problem was it had a small hole on the upper rad hose the only way I found the hole was when the engine was hot I moved the hose a little bit and the leak showed up.
the best way to find a small leak is to top off the radiator and attach a pump that will pressurize the system and "force" the leak to expose itself, if there is one.
You need to find the source of the leak. it hasn't overheated yet because you keep catching it and re-filling. From your description, it sounds a lot like a bad water pump seal (part of pump) but without physically looking you can't be sure of that. when the pump seal begins to fail, internal pressure while running often will drive the seal tighter against the shaft stopping the leak. as pressure drops as the engine cools, the seal relaxes and permits seepage. With time, that will change and it will leak all the time.
I just replaced my front ujoint for the 2nd time and yes when you pull the outer axle to replace the u joint and then reinstall the axle it seems to dislodge or screw up the seal. the 1st time i had a shop do it and they fixed the seal but now its on me
It could be burning and you don't notice. Remove air filter box assembly from top of intake manifold. Hold throttle wide open (engine off) and look through throttle body (flashlight may be required) and see if oil is puddled up inside manifold. If so then the intake manifold will need to be removed so the lower pan gasket can be replaced.
you prolly have a bad rad cap. does your overflow stay full ? so it vents while you drive only and you may never see the drips
well the rear issue may be a sticking e brake cable and or pad do you use the ebrake ? if not apply the parking brake and drive it around the block to burn off any rust there may be to help it stick( don't burn them up just clean them up)
