I have a 2005 altima & my overhead interior light won't come on. I changed the bulb. The light came on for a split second and turned off. It never came back on.Can you help me?

i assume interior lights go out. I would check that the boot light goes out also. could remove the bulb and see if it fixes it.

The bulbs is replaced from the back of the overhead console with 1/4 turn bulb holders.

the overhead console ( non rail version ) is held up with spring clips.

Open the rear compartment, and grab the rear corners and pull down 1 at a time. They are very hard to pull the 1st few times. Once you have the read released, there is another set of spring clips in the front, so be careful how far down you pull the rear, until the front is released.

Once you can see the back of the overhead console, you will see the 1/4 turn bulb holders for the map and interior lights.

Open your car bulet the go to where the overhead light holder hid remove the overhead light panel then remove the burnt bulb then replace with the new one then couple the panel back and close the bulet and here coming the overhead light working.

Open the trunk and pull the carpet away look for 3 thumb nuts and remove the light lens assy. to take out the bulb from the back 1/4 turn pops it out.

Open the rear compartment ( on the non rail overhead ) grab and pull down in each rear corner. The overhead is held on with 4 or 6 spring clips.
Once you have the overhead console down, the bulbs are installed from the rear with 1/4 turn bulb holders.

take interior cover behind tail light inside trunk off.the bulb the bulb twist locks in hole(twist counter clockwise to remove)repeat procedure to replace.

remove the door switches or fuse if it has only the interior lights on it. berrydalewolf

Hopefully you've gotten your car fixed by now, but mine just did the same thing today 4/25/2010. While changing the dome light, I blew the 10 amp 'Batt Saver' fuse located inside the car driver side fuse area. The mini fuses in the interior are nearly impossible to check if they are blown without a tester. I bought a cheap one for $5 at AutoZone and discovered. Once replaced, all worked fine. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem I had today.

Get you a small knife or a small flathead screwdriver & put it under the lens, and pop it off. Pull bulb out and carry to autoparts store.
