How do I reset the TPMS warning light on my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder ? I have inflated a low air pressured tire too the proper inflation pressure, but the warning light remains on. Can anyone help me with...

My daughter has a 2006 Murano, and has had the same problems.
Replacement Tire Pressure sensors are available from e-bay online, but when the first one of hers quit, I found out from the dealer that the computer loses track and must be reset. I would not replace any wheel sensors just yet.
Where we live, the Nissan dealer wants about $150 to reset the computer and turn off the "flat tire" light.
Recently, a local tire store has offered to do this for free.
I took my daughter's car in to have the computer reset.
The store manager says they cannot reset Nissans or Toyotas, only the dealer can.
So, my daughter is living with the "flat tire" light.

Hello Mattingly.

Here is some information for you regarding your problem.

The Tire Inflation Monitor (TIM) system alerts the driver when the pressure changes in one of the tires. The system only detects a low pressure condition while the vehicle is being driven. Once a low tire pressure condition is detected, the system informs the driver that a low tire pressure condition exist's, whenever the ignition is ON.
The LOW TIRE message appears on the Instrument panel if the tire pressure in one tire becomes at least 82 kPa (12 psi) lower or higher than the other three tires. The message does not appear if more than one tire is low or high, or if the system is not calibrated properly. The system does not inform the driver which tire is low. To clear this message, set the tire pressures in all four tires to the proper pressures and perform the system reset procedure. Refer to Tire Inflation Monitor Reset Procedure for service procedure.
The Tire Inflation Monitor software requires approximately one half hour of straight line driving to complete the TIM autolearn. There are several speed ranges that the EBCM needs to learn the tire inflation configuration in order to have the full capability of detecting a low tire condition. The speed detection ranges are the following:

  • 24-64 km/h (15-40 mph)
  • 64-113 km/h (40-70 mph)
  • 113-145 km/h (70-90 mph)
Each speed range has 2 modes of low tire detection.

  • Monitor Mode 1
  • Monitor Mode 2 The EBCM learns the tire inflation configuration for each speed range independently. In Monitor Mode 1, the EBCM has only partially learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has limited detection capability for a low tire condition. In Monitor Mode 2, the EBCM has fully learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has full detection capability for a low tire condition. If the EBCM is not in Monitor Mode 1 or Monitor Mode 2, a low tire condition cannot be detected because the EBCM has not learned the tire inflation configuration of the vehicle.

To reset (calibrate) the system:
Turn the ignition switch to RUN. Then press and hold the RESET button for about five seconds. The red RESET button is located inside the instrument panel fuse block on the right side of the dash.. The LOW TIRE light will come on and flash three times and then it will turn off.
The system completes the calibration process during driving.
The system normally takes 15 to 20 minutes of driving in each of three speed ranges to "learn" tire pressures. The speed rages are 15 to 40 mph (25 to 65 km/h), 40 to 65 mph (65 to 105 km/h) and above 65 mph (105 km/h).

There you are, this should fix you up.
Keep in mind this system uses wheel speed sensors to calculate. If one of your sensors isn't working your low tire light will remain on.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Good morning ! I have a 2005 pathfinder and this morning the dash board turn on a yellow light, it is in U form with tree point down the U and a interrogation sign inside the U. what is this ! thanks 4...

sounds like low tire pressure symbol. Check all ur tires and make sure properly inflated. If thats the case light will go off after proper inflation. Also can be caused by drops or great rises in outside temps.

Air guage light

looking in my service manuals it has to be done by the nissan dealer as it uses their scan tool.
if you had tire repaired and put back in same spot then light should have gone off
check your air pressure in all tires if low fill with proper inflation and drive light should go off.
If pressures are good then the sensor in the wheel you had flat in is damaged
