My Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 RJM Engine stalled after fitting it with new oil pump. It can crank but is emiting white smoke. What could be the problem? I have tried to check if the fuel pump is not working but the test showed that it is working well.

White smoke is usually a sign of coolant burning. Carefully open the coolant cap, sniff the inside. If there is an exhaust smell you more than likely have head gasket problems. A further diagnosis is needed to be sure. Also ensure that any wires/plugs are reconnected. If the oil sensor is unplugged the vehicle wont start.

SOURCE: My Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 RJM Engine stalled after

the engine oil pumps are in the rear of the engine(trans out) and behind flexplate /flywheel, were any of these 2 engine oil pumps touched if so the flywheel /flexplate has to be timed to crankshaft position, so you might have it in the wrong position, if your talking about the diesel lift pump (injector pump) that also supplies high pressure engine oil to injectors, after replacing this there is a learn procedure for the rail pressure control valve that is on pump. this can only be done by dealer or some one with Tech2 scanner tool.

the line up. (wiki list) so its 3.0L 4JX1
stalls and lost power.
The 4JX1 is a 3.0L direct injection diesel engine, turbo, some intercooled, which replaced the 4JG2 in the Isuzu Bighorn/Trooper/Holden Jackaroo. It uses unit injectors and 4 valves per cylinder.

can be caused by many reasons. get it scanned yet. ?
or see FSM book on flash codes from the direct injection fuel
controller? (per this engine option and market)

does turbo have proper boost? (PSI boost or +1 bar boost?)
does it even have a boost gauge.?
there are over 50 causes, of stalls (most inside engine)
but its not getting boost or the injection rates are wrong.
there are basic tests for each covered in the FSM
Factory (oem) service manual, with coverage for this engine.

I cannot start my isuzu bighorn w/4jx1 engine. we already changed the turbo but still it emits too much smoke in the exhaust and after a while the engine goes wild and we cannot turn it off in the ign

Its a diesel and its running away so do not try to start till you do the following and yes i know i will be amolished for being a cowboy by the other experts but what you do is to make a gasket for the EGR valve from a coca cola can and seal it off if you dont it may run away and blow itself to pieces .If you do this then it run as normal as the older trucks never had these thing fitted and they all run ok in my day ,exactly whats wron i couldnt tell you without my head under the bonnet but do as i say and it run perfectly

I am having problem with a 1998 isuzu bighorn,4jx1. Wheh ever its started it smokes a lots( white or blueish)& dose not rev out until 10-15 minute.A diagnostic check was done, which show itTPS...

Sounds like the valve seals may be bad and leaking oil into the cylinders when it sits. This would cause a bluish smoke. One thing to help figure out the problem is are you using oil? If so I would explain the problem of smoking to a good trusted mechanic. He would be able to advise on a valve seal job or if you have high milage other options you would have to repair the problem.
