The battery is located in the trunk on the passenger side. There should be either a bracket with "2" 13mm bolts or a bracket at the rear of the battery with a long 10mm bolt holding the battery in place (sometimes there will be both types of bolt present). Of course the first thing you want to do is make sure the vehicle is off. It is recommended that you wait at least 3 minutes before disconnecting the battery to ensure the engine computer's relay has fully discharged. Secondly, make sure that you don't have a battery charger or jump box connected to the vehicle at the jump points found under the engine hood. Once that's done and you've removed the brackets you can remove the negative cable first followed by the positive cable (if you are unfamiliar vehicle electrical systems you may want to remove the negative cable before removing any securing brackets). NOTE: the battery is heavy. You may need someone to hold the cables out of the way while you lift the battery out. At this point you can now install the replacement battery following your removal procedure in reverse. Make sure that you connect the positive cable first before connecting the negative cable. Now comes the really hard part. 1) You will need to make sure your replacement battery has the same AH (amp/hour) rating as the original battery. If it does not your vehicle may require programming at you local BMW dealership. Your engine computer controls the output of your alternator based on that rating. 2) You will need to take your vehicle to the dealership to have the new battery "registered" to the vehicle. As a battery ages in your car many systems restrict their operation to prevent complete battery discharge (i.e: a/c blower motor). Simply replacing the battery will not restore these systems to full operation. The car needs to be told that there is a new battery before full function will be restored. Some independent repair shops that are familiar with BMW's may have equipment that can register a battery. You will have to check for availability in your area.

HOW TO REMOVE SPEED LIMIT ERROR FROM BMW 525I 2004 MODEL

If this is not a limit you have set on your indash menu system..try removing the battery negative terminal for 20 min. ** Dont leave your keys in the car or close the boot. When refitting the battery , if possible make sure the side ligts are set to the On position. Dont mess with the battery refitting . put it straight on ..firm!
I f this does not reset the facia info it will require scanning with a quality unit to verify if the fault can be cleared from memory or is a facia unit specialist repair (these do fail .. see BBA-Reman).

On my 2006 M5 the car even when jump started and drive for about a minute. The battery doesnt seem to hold charge

have you checked the alternator and or belts!! at the battery the voltage when running should be at least 14 to 14.2, then the alternator is working fine. when engine is off there should be at least 13.5 to 13.8, no less than 12 volts at battery. or battery is bad.

Battery is being drain new battery replaced still losing power

The alternator doesn't seem to be replacing charge when driving. Take the car to Autozone or similar business and have them check the alternator and the voltage to the battery (should read 13.5 volts at idle). If everything checks ok, then you need to track down whatever is pulling charge while the car if turned off. Remove the negative battery cable and rig a test light between the battery post and the cable. If you have light when everything is supposed to be off, then remove and replace each fuse until the light goes out. That will be the circuit that you need to trace for electrical leakage--look for unexpected loads like a light in the trunk, under hood, or glove box that is not being turned off. Hope this helps!

My m5 bmw 2006 use oil every 2000 miles, please help

How much oil is using oil? Some oil loss can be expected just read the owners manual. That is why most german cars say dont overfill as that will siphon oil out and fill oil only when it reaches the low mark.
