The panels have 3 t20 torx screws on the bottom and one philips head near the mirror. Under pull handles there are 3 philips on the drivers and 2 philips on the passengers sides. Pull the panels from the bottom and lift the panels up. There are 2 black rubber plugs in each door, pop each plug out and the glass is held in place to the clips on each side with either a 10 mm bolt or t30 torx bolt. Move the glass to the point where you can see the bolts, loosen, but don't remove the bolts. Once loose, you can pull the glass loose. Once loose, lower the window a bit, angle the rear of the glass up and pull it out. The glass may be epoxied in place, as VW had a problem with windows coming loose. If so, try to pop the rubber in the clamp loose (above the bolts you see through the holes) and reinstall it with the window removed.

Help! First, forgive me, I am certainly not a car girl so my terminology might be ridiculous. Our front drivers door glass shattered so my husband had to disconnect everything to get to the tracks and get them cleaned out. Unfortunately when removing the metal frame he knocked (my words) "the thing that goes up and down" to show if the door is locked or unlocked out of place and when we reconnected everything it is not working properly....do you know where and how the "metal stem" is to be placed in the door lock unit?

Power window failure, 1998 jetta vr6 glx, driver side does not work and passenger side only goes down from drivers switch. also how does the trim panel come off to work on the door

Remove the little door nob thingy for lock and unlock it just screws off,, Then you have 6 Allen key bolts around the door trim, remove those. Then remove the door handle cover just pops off you may need a small flat blade screw driver. you have two big screws Philips head screws in there... Then remove your speaker cover then the speaker, then remove the speaker, then remove the speaker bracket, then lift the door panel out. The motors and the regulators for your windows are **** door man makes a good unit for them i replace all 4 of mine... They are expensive Partsgeek.com is the best price i could fine. Looked for 2 years in junk yards and posted adds for replacement parts don't wast your time its damn near impossible. cost me about 500 for the 2 front window motors and regulators and I only replaced the regulators on the back windows I think they were about 50 a peace.

All power door locks lock except the driver side front door

On my jetta, if you don't lock the doors with the remote then all doors lock except the drivers door. try this
1. closing all doors walk around to the passenger door.
2.open the door, using the button on the passenger door, lock the doors.

I had this happen to me on my jetta and found you could lock all the doors if you did'nt use the drivers door or you locked using the remote. They did this to keep the driver from locking the keys in the car. I hope this worked for you
