If it is a Pass III system like my 1999 Buick LeSabre. It means the key is weak. When my car was four years old this happened with all my keys at once. I found in the manual it stated if chip fell out system would reset immediately instead of 2 or 3 minutes. I bought a key from Sears identically cut to my GM but blank no chip to reset the system. When I tried it the car started and I bought four more keys and have used them since. ( 8 yrs) They cost $1.29 each, and have never left me waiting in a cold car again.
SOURCE: How do you hook up trailer lights on my 1999 gmc 4x4 Suburban
If your only going with a flat 4 connector, you will have a connection behind rear bumper area that you can buy an adapter to put between the connectors & flat 4 will connect from there, otherwise you can splice into your light harness in back of cargo area, behind panel in the corner. That's all provided your only going with a flat 4. If you need more info, just let me know.
SOURCE: 1999 GMC Suburban. no sound from radio
there is a plug at the back of the radio connecting it to the vehicle wiring loom. If you can get at thes plug, either from below or by removing the radio unit, make sure the plug is tight and secure. I can't think that the amp has gone or you would have lost all sound, so this is more than likely the problem.
