I have a 2002 Hyundai XG350l and last night my check engine light came on and has been very shaky ever since. I added more engine oil since it was really low but that didn't seem to fix the problem. This morning I tried turning my car on and even though it did turn on, while sitting in park my car was shaking and I heard a squeeling noise. Just two months ago I spent over $900 to get a new alternator, serpentine belt, and battery. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong with my car this time?

please get a free OBD II scan at your local parts chain and send us the trouble codes. The codes will help us make good suggestions on how to get your car fixed.

You might just want to go down to your local autozone and let them do a code check on your car and tell you exactlly why the check engine light is on, it is free and will cost you less in the long run considering that it could be a number of diffrent things causeing this problem!

sounds like you have an air leak in the induction side some where. pressurising the inlet with a dedicated smoke machine would prove this, optionally with the engine running if you spray around the seams and joints of the inlet with penetrating oil you may get lucky and find it, you will know when as the engine tone changes when the oil fills the air leak momentarily.

I'd say sounds kinda like a missfire although with the absence of an engine code I would lean more towards a vacuum leak somewhere. Chk all your lines while cars running to see if you might have a vacuum leak.

It may just be a sensor failing, or even as simple as a loose gas cap. You need to get it scanned to see what the error is that the computer found. (Some auto parts stores will do this for free, but they don't give a lot of information. Try that, if no luck, try a good garage.)

Changing manuel transmission/differential oil

the last time I changed the oil in a manual tranny that is all I had to do, the level in mine was determined by putting an 1/8 bend in a piece of wire, add oil then check to see if you can touch the oil with the wire, when it does it is full enough.

First of all, Hyundai did not produce the XG350 until 2002. You wrote 2001 Hyundai XG350L. The engine in the 2001 is 3.0 (XG300). Cant help you.
