Have camshaft codes po0011 and po0021 what does mean???

Hi Craig, hope your doing well today. The code you have P0012 means: Camshaft Timing Over-Retarded. It could be the Camshaft Position Actuator on Bank 1 or Computer and even Wiring Related. Without checking it out there is no way of knowing which is the problem. Unless you have a lot of money and just want to try the actuator, I suggest you have it checked out. P0011 NISSAN Description This valve mechanism hydraulically controls cam phases continuously with the fixed operating angle of the intake valve.

The ECM receives signals such as crankshaft position, camshaft position, engine speed, and engine coolant temperature. Then, the ECM sends ON/OFF pulse duty signals to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve depending on driving status. This makes it possible to control the shut/open timing of the intake valve to increase engine torque in low/mid speed range and output in high-speed range.

The intake valve timing control solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow. The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards valve angle. When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position.

Hi Po0011 is not a valid code but if you meant P0011 then it refers to an over advanced cam timing fault.

pooo11 is camshaft position actuator A- bank 1 timing over advanced. pooo21 is the same as above but it is bank 2. this means that the cam shaft sensor is bad. and needs to be changed.

P0342 code means: camshaft position sensor- low imput. Check wiring (short to earth), if OK change camshaft position sensor.
