Door latch switch

These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have opened the door

The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.
remove the internal door trim. unplugg the wiring inside. remove the outer key barrel and unhook the cable from the outer handle to the lock unit. unbolt the lock unit. the window regulator will have to be unbolted from the window (remove the 2 plastic circular access panels and wind the window down to a level at which the 2 bolts are visible), lift the window clear once unbolted (using your hands, slide it upwards in its guide rails, stick it in place with tape).
once this is done the window regualtor can be unbolted (10 or so bolts) and removed, complete with the door lock.

Radio

My son has a 2004 Volkswagon Jetta that had a dead radio. It occurred after my daughter -in- law experienced a dead battery, requiring a jump start. The radio was totally dead. All fuses in the fuse panel were checked first. My local Volkswagon service center was kind enough to assist me in removing the radio from the instrument panel (special "key" required) free of charge. In the back of the radio is a 10-amp mini fuse that was blown. Check it out before you spend megabucks replacing anything else.

Power windows

Hope this helps you!!!

Put your key in the drivers door key hole and turn it! Worked for me!
I had a service department recommend this to me.
I had never turned mine in the first place but it worked so I'm happy!

Good Luck!
