My 98 Cadillac catera won't start.Its not getting fuel. there is fuel all the way up to the fuel rail but there is no power at the fuel rail. What could be my problem? Thanks Charolette

The pressure regulator is mounted on the fuel rail , located on intake manifold . Metal tube that supply's fuel to the fuel injectors . This video is of a different vehicle but should give you some idea of where to look an what your looking for

Did car run out of fuel? If so yoou may need to get rid of air lock. There is a fuel rail on the top of engine with a valve on it like a bicycle tire. With key on, remove cover on valve and push it until fuel comes out. This may solve the problem. If not you may need to loosen the nuts at injectors to allow air to escape. Also caused by fuel line leak.

Did you check fuel pressure at the injectors with a gauge before and after replacing the pump ?

YOU HAVE A BROKEN WIRE TO FUEL PUMP FUSE BOX GOING TO FUEL PUMP FUSE.

most likely a failed crank or cam sensor. Without testing its just a guess.

Underneath the intake manifold. Usually around a 2-4 hour job for beginners. Make sure you are careful when disconnecting fuel rail so you do not get fuel in your eyes or where it could start on fire!!

Check crank position sensor.

have 98 cadillac catera where are the timing mark's and what are the mark's 4 the cam's? guy messed with it and everything is off. help me.

sounds like no fuel pressure, I had the same problem . theres a molded fuel line between the pump and sending unit inside the tank that was split. , Basically I had a fuel leak inside the gas tank, 2 test pressure the connection is on the fuel rail behind the motor , it should be 40-50 psi
