97 Cherokee Laredo V8 4X4 bought used and came with remote. I replaced the batteries in it but still doesn't work. Is there some kind of sequence to go through to re-set it? Or do I have go to the Dealer?

I recently bought a 97 jeep laredo, all the fluids were low,so i toped them off ,today the transmission sliped and kind of surged a little before pulling out of it.and seems a little restricted when taking...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If I was you, I would go ahead and change the transmission fluid and filter. The bubbly fluid may be a sign of water or moisture. If it was driven with little fluid, there may be damage. I would inspect the outer part and check for leaks. Slipping when you first pull out could be a sign of low fluid. Then again, you may have transmission issues. If it is possible, try to get codes off your computer. If not, I would change the fluid and filter to see if that helps. If it doesn't, I would advise you to see a transmission shop.

97 jeep grand cherokee laredo had sudden loss electrical power no lights, instruments, ignition nothing at all checked battery -12.7vdc checked fuses - ok

Well if your battery and fuses check out fine the next thing i would suggest would be to make sure all your battery cables are good and snug, both at the battery side, and the vehicle side.

One of the fuses is missing out of the fuse box of my 97 grand Cherokee Laredo but the vehicle was bought as is and it has no cover over it. How do I know what fuse is missing and how do I install it?

it could be a circuit that is not being used by an option like power windows or fog lamps or ac, try bridging with a test light to see if its active, if so plug in a 5 amp fuse and see if somethin works that didn.t before

I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter that won't idle

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

2004 Laredo remote unlock works only with a foot or so of car

Have 2004 laredo that the power locks/windows do not work from the inside and the dome lights stay on after the car is running and the locks do not lock automatically after it starts running? Now car will not start, will not turn over. When I turn key back to off position - the lights and dashboard go crazy. Any thoughts!

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Alarm system

There are switches on the door lock cylinders that are supposed to shut the alarm off when you use the key,but they go bad allot. you could try unlocking the passenger door first, since that one usually gets less use and is less likely to go bad. Otherwise you can disconnect the alarm module, it is located behind the glove box.
