Add coolant to the overflow tank. when needed, the radiator will **** coolant from the overflow into the radiator. coolant is added to the overflow tank due to this being a closed - pressurized system

2000 Oldsmobile Alero losing water and running hot.

A worn water pump is the most likely. If the coolant is going down, the water is going somewhere.

The most common reasons an Oldsmobile Alero is overheating are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat. Coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.)

Oldsmobile Alero Overheating - RepairPal

Videos on overheating. You probably have air in the system from when you replaced the thermostat. The coolant system needs 'burping' of air.

My 2003 Olds Shilouette air shocks work but the sensor for the load must be out. With a load the air compressor is not signaled to pump. The pump works when I activate the auxillary button. Where is that...

the load sensor is probably broken. It connects the rear axle to the frame to measure load. Its mounted on the left side of the rear axle. Its commonfor these to become damaged if the vehicle is lifted by the frame rather than by the axle. Looking at the part you will probably see the sensor arm hanging loose.

97 Oldsmobile LSS Won't Start.

You need to replace the upper intake manifold. The coolant will get on top of the pistons and they will not fire. Take all of the plugs out and turn over to get the coolant out and put new ones back in after the new manifold is put on. You can break the starter housing if you don't get the coolant out. A common problem with this engine but the new manifold has been re-designed to last longer.

When accelerating from a stop, car lurches when shifting gears

On a lot of vehicles there is a transmission speed sensor that receives data that tells it how fast the car is going and shifts accordingly. If this sensor is bad the transmission can't function properly. I would have this checked, they are not that terribly expensive, and not that hard to change on most vehicles. Hope this helps.
