Whenever I have cruise set the truck seems to be missing and runs unevenly. Not so much the speed varies but you can feel it missing or surging every little bit. It's not constant, hard to describe but very much like a miss.
It runs fine without the cruise set. Any ideas on where to look for the cause?
I have an 01 Ram 1500. I experienced the same thing a couple times, now my Transmission has all kinds of issues. It all started with "a miss" while going down the road at highway speed with the cruise control set. My P-code was 1724, means something wrong with the tranny. If you engine light is on and you want the P-code, then do this: Put the key in, turn it to ON, then OFF, then ON, then OFF, then ON, then OFF, then ON and leave it on this time. Then look at your odometer for the P-code to flash. ON 3 times, then leave it on the 4th time. I hope this helps.
Its probably a problem with the cruise vacuum hose.......maybe blocked a little or the vacuum seal leaking a little. Trace the vacuum hose through to the engine area.
