2005 malibu, factory radio removal and keyless entry disabled'?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. You may have accidentally broke the controller. They are fragile. The newer cars like yours automatically set the alarm when the doors are locked from keychain remote, or locking manually. New remote, $50-100.

this code is located on a module on inside left rear panel where your car jack is located you will need a flashlight to look up on the module there will be a sticker on this module with 5 digits this will be the original factory code to lock or unlock your car . inside your owners manual there is a procedure to change the code .

Your going to have to replace the stereo and an aft mkt stereo will be the cheapest by far, however you should know that 96-00 Civics keyless entry control unit is inside the factory unit and by replacing it with an aftermarket deck you will lose you factory keyless entry system. If you don't have or use honda factory keyless entry or maybe you have an aft mkt keyless entry installed than I would go with the aft mkt deck.

Key fobs have to be reprogrammed. something has knocked the coding off. Search the web for procedures to program fobs. It usually entails operating ignition a series of power lock sequences and the like. If that does not work you can take it to the dealer and they can recode it using the data from you cars computer, but that is extremely expensive.

on chevy malibu, turn key on engine off.let it stay on 10 to 15 minutes. then turn ignition off, take out key from ignition. after a minute start the car. this should work.

There are no wires you can touch to program key fob's , Dealer only ! Need a factory scan tool !
This procedure will erase all keyless entry transmitters from memory.
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, select Body.
Select Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR).
Select Module Setup.
Select Program Key Fobs.
Select Invalidate All.
Follow the scan tool on screen instructions.
