Radio is locked after battery disconnected

I had to have a transmission replaced in my 1999 Accord. Since then, my radio is not working. I bought the car from someone else, and the instruction manual was not included. How can I reset the radio?

Look around for a small label with a 5 digit number on it. Look inside the glove box and console. You will need the 5 digit code to unlock the radio. To get the code you will need the serial # of the radio. In order to get the serial # it is necessary that you remove the radio from the dash or at least remove enough of the dash so you can see the serial #. The serial # is located on top of the radio chassis. Numbers that start with M1C, M3G, M46, & YEFM are not the serial #. Look for another number on the chassis. Now with the serial # and the VIN number off the car go to the Honda Owners Link and register your Honda. You will be able to get the code there for free, but you must have the VIN and Serial #. https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?page=%2Fprod%5Fhome%2Easp

Hi I just purchased this Honda and radio displays code I need help

As a security measure, any time the battery is disconnected, the radio is Locked Out, and will not function until the security code is entered on the radio itself. Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership.

My radio on my honda accord keeps showing code e, what does that mean?

Means that it is requesting the code (anti theft) to reactivate the radio. In all probability, the vehicle battery was disconnected and the anti theft tripped.

I have a 99 gmc and i want to take the factory radio out but it has theft lock and i'm not sure how to get it out, got any ideas?

theft lock is an electric code that keeps the radio from working if the power is disconnected you must reprogram your code to work again if theft lock is not programed by the owner it needs no code to work if you are going to replace it with an after market radio it is mute any way

Replaced battery in 1996 Honda Accord which deactivated radio.

You need to code ..punch in code then power radio up and it will work. For a fee if its the original radio for this car the code can be retrieved by the dealer. If you entered to code incorrectly more than 4 times you will need to disconnect battery for 30 second and re-enter code. good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

2005 Honda Accord headlight replacement.

For the driver's side headlight, yes, the battery must be removed to change the headlight. There are three screws but they don't have to be removed, just loosened enough to where the bulb can rotate ninety degrees to pull out. Be prepared to reenter the radio code as disconnecting the battery will cause the radio to electronically lock out. The radio code can be found on the security card or inside the user's manual if you're lucky.
