Have you replaced the wiring to the starter motor, both the main power lead from the battery and the ground (earth) lead from the battery. Being that the vehicle is over 15 years old, excessive internal resistance could be the cause of your problem, this also presnts itself as clicking from the starter motor because it is transferring less current...i would seriously look at this direction, if you dont know about auto-electrical testing, i suggest you take it to a shop to have it looked at it

This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/

How do i replace the starter on my North Star 32 valve V8 engine on my 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora?

Before you replace the starter check all your wiring to the starter, and I don't mean just look, I mean loosen the light and heavy connections, wiggle them to help remove any corrosion and retighten.
Check the heavy ground wire from batt to chassis/engine is good. As a secondary check, attach a jumper cable from batt neg terminal to clean engine casting in case ground cable is bad.

I have a 2001 olds aurora, wont start. Doesnt click or nothing, tried jump starting it dont do nothing. Battery is only 2 years old.

when you turn key on is there power to lights radio dash ? if yes check the starter relay and solenoid you can check easily using a test light find a good ground and a test light that works test light on battery first at the starter there will two wires one thick and will lead to battery the other wire is thin this is the wire you want to test have someone turn key to start while you test for power at wire if there is power at the wire replace starter the solenoid is deffective if there is no power at the starter sol wire then check starter relay

95 Acura Integra starting problem

This happened to me on a 95 Integra GSR and the entire starter did not need to be replaced, just the solenoid pieces. They get old and worn down and the plunger no longer makes a good connection with them, hence the "click". Replace the solenoid panels and sand the plunger and your good as new. You can find instructions for this on the net, just do a search for it.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora won't start

if the car sat for two years and was never started.... the motor could very well be seized.... to get at the starter .... is usually done from the bottom. If you can removed the starter... test it to see if it's working.... something else you can try if you can see the starter ... is to tap it gently with a hammer while someone attempts to start it...
