Please help.I get different answers from local agents. What oil go into 2004 honda accord automatic gearbox. I am far from honda branch and must buy at local stores .

Head to your local Autosave auto parts store or Orielly's and have them do a free check engine light diagnoses. This is a free service by many local auto parts stores and the computer will give you the answer to your check engine light issue

Hi, gearbox oil on all automatics are due for oil and filter change and tourqe converter to be flushed once at 40,000 then you never need touch it again

timing belt may have slipped or stretched? take to parts store and ask to use scan tool! good luck!

Hi sounds like a problem I was starting to have in my 04 Accord. It would shutter terribly between gears. We had changed trans. fluid every 60k miles but evidently that wasn't good enough. I was shopping for a trans when I talked to my mechanic and he recommended new fluid. We drained and refilled trans twice and now drain and refill trans pan every other oil change ( about 20k w/ synthetic). After the fluid change trans. is doin great. Don't run and go pay for a trans flush at a local shop. I worked at a very highend dealership as a service writer and trust me it is a rip. In your honda you have drain plug just drain and refill, then run, repeat. It will do the same thing just takes a little longer. I have 190k on "The 04" now and it just won't quit! Honda's Rock!

i wouldn't worry about it its probably a loose wire somewhere as long as it shifts and drives cool hope this helps regards Jim

Go to the parts store and tell them the make model and year of the car, they will look up the correct trans fluid, if you put the wrong fluid in you will damage the transmission.
