A clicking sound could be stuck lifters. try an oil additive designed to clean sticky engines. it may also be preignition so you can try a higher octane fuel. lastly it could be somthingelse and not the engine at all. use a 1/2 inch rubber tube to listen to individual areas of the engine to pin point the noise

hi,,

sounds like you had your clutch slave replaced. also I see that you said it doesnt make noise when you push the clutch to the floor, so usually thats the throw out bearing, its inside the transmission. the transmission has to come apart from the engine. the check engine light could be either from the transmission getting a fault, or the oil inside the cap is causing an electrical issue. so you need a throw out bearing and a new distributor. stanzas good for a couple more trips and thats it.

My pajero manual transmission 4WD has a clanking noise after you have driven it for a long time. when the transmission becomes hot the clanking noise appears. but when i step on the clutch the noise...

hi.
a transmission problem when hot, but ok when cold, would suggest that the oil in the gearbox is getting too thin when it heats up.

you say that the transmission has been pulled out but do you know if the oil was actually changed in it.
if the oil has not been changed, drain it and replace with the specified oil.
if it was changed recently, then i would consider using a thicker grade transmission oil instead.

changing gearbox oil, is normally a matter of removing the drain plug on the bottom to drain the old oil, and then refilling using the level plug on the side of the engine.

I have a 2002 Saab 9-3. A couple of days ago I started hearing a clicking sound coming from the engine area (don't know if its actually the engine, just in that area). At first, only made sound when...

If the 'clicking' sound changes with engine speed you need to check your oil, and pay attention to your temperature guage-it might be a lifter making noise and an oil change would possibly help. If it is a steady clicking noise, it might be a loud fuel injector, possible but not likely.

Has a noise in front end also wont shift into low, second or overdrive.

SOUND PROBLEM IN TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP OR TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER.SINCE YOU NEED BOTH OF THEM EITHER ONE MALFUNCTION THERE WILL BE NO LOW DRIVE GEAR OR OVER DRIVE.MAKE SURE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL NOT LOW. IF ALL LOOKS GOOD. YOU CAN CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CHANGE FILTER FIRST TO SEE IF HELPS ANY. IF NOT TAKE TRANSMISSION TO SHOP.THEY NEED TO RUN OIL PUMP PRESSURE TEST TO SEE IF OIL PUMP BAD.

4 whell drive roar starting at 25mph

that really sounds like you need to verify the level of the trans-axle oil and/or the transmission oil. if you are unsure, or if you didnt perform the change of the oil at the required intervals, you should stop in a pep boys, jeffy lube or similar store and have the fluid levels check.

the transmission oil is easy to check with a dip stick in the engine (not the same to the engine oil), and the trans-axle oil, you will have to remove a bolt in the axle and check with your finger if it is in level.

'02 Diamante oil light and clicking noise

Here goes:
Please do not drive the car.
Have the car towed to a well-recommended garage
Have someone unscrew the oil pressure light or gauge sending unit in the engine block and screw is a oil pressure guage ( hand held, used in garages).
Test that pressure carefully at all speeds.
Either you have: a bad oil pump, a plugged oil filter, a clogged oil passageway, or a bad engine.
The ticking sound might be valve lifters that are not receiving oil.
God bless your efforts.
