I have a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and the a/c will not change over to blow out the main vents. It blows from the defrost, main vents and floor all at the same time. I was told it is not a vacuum leak because the new cars have a motor that switches the vent system. Where is this motor located and if this is not the problem could it be the control switch? Thanks
This is right, this uses motors, the selector motor is located on the driverside of the heater/ac box, there are a few of these motors you will need to test them by operating the controls until you spot the one that doesnt move, these motors are on the box one or two on passengerside and one or two more on the driveside, all depending on if you have daul zones or not good luck this can get tricky locating the right one and testing it.
I am having the same problem. What is happening is the door white door that seperates the ac and defroster is controlled by a motor. This is located low behind the ac control counsel. You can see it when it moves by looking underneath by the gas pedal and to the right. You can see it moving when you push the defrost button on and off.
Mine is moving properly when I turn the defrost on. When I turn it off, the white door is not moving all the back to where it should be. I can here a clicking noise as if it is still trying to move. I can move it all the back with my finger.
I do not know what to do from here, but that is what it is.
