I have a 04 Santa Fe with 77000 miles the car is at the dealer ship every 3000 miles for oilchanges and check up.three months ago after i filled up the car with gas i had a hard time getting the car started it took 3 to 4 try's this happend 3 more times.i took the car in to the dealer ship and they had the car for one day and could not find anything wrong and i was told don't repeat this problem. Since than i have tryed leaving the car run while filling the tank as soon as i start to pump the fuel the engine starts shaking (missing) and the engine stops and it takes 3 to 4 try's to get the car started ones the car starts it is fine until the next time i need fuel. It looks like your fuell tank is puting in to vacuum after filling try to start after you filled up with out closing the tank cap just to see if the problem is there if not its vacuum problem and you have to check your air intake in the tank

SOURCE: wont start
This a possible solution. My 2004 just killed on the way to work 3 weeks ago. It would turn over, but would not start. When my mechanic looked at it, I told him I thought it was the fuel pump, because that is how it seem to be acting. As if the pump was not sending fuel. Turns out it was a sensor behind the timing chain. The Cam Shaft sensor. Once that goes I guess it cuts the fuel. Hyundi's have a maintance schedule where you need to replace the timing chain at 40,000. It was the slack in the belt that caused the sensor to go. I had the two belts the the cam shaft sensor and one other sensor in that same place replaced and now it runs like a top. I hope that helps. And I hope that is not your problem. Parts were pretty cheap. But with labor it cost $900.

If your Santa Fe has a V6 engine 2.7L , it sounds like you have an ignition break down happening. You will need to renew all the ignition wires and check the two coils also for arcing .
