1999 corolla brake warning light

Brake warning light comes on under hard acceleration and occasionally while braking. Brakes still have stopping power. Light normally turns off in under 5 seconds, seems to stay on if i play with pedal to keep in low gear (automatic trans). Recently adjusted rear brakes and greased front sliders.

SOURCE: corolla ve 1999 problem to accelerate check engine on

You may want to try checking the gas filter because my car also had that problem and it was the gasoline filter that had somehow got water in it and was completly damaged. I'm not a complete expert but I'm only basing myself on what my car had that did exactly the same thing as yours.

SOURCE: Occasionally VCS and Brake warning lights come on

I also have a 2002 Sequoia, mine with 100,00o miles and replaced breaks in the spring. My VCS and brake lights also were coming on, and baffled as to why. Someone told me to have my break fluid checked, I did and it was low, once they filled it and moved my car the break light went out but the VCS lights were still on, part problem solved. I ran a quick errand turned my truck off, when I returned and turned it on the lights were off. I am hoping that by putting the brake fluid in , solved my problem, so far so good. Hope this helps you as it did me.

SOURCE: abs annd brake light stays on

Your brakes would require some testing because there are a couple things that could go wrong that would give you a hard pedal. With regards to your abs light and handbrake light staying on you should get your codes read to give you more info. But they share a common fault. One of the reasons they could both be on is because your skid control ECU is faulty. Otherwise it could be two separate issues.

If your vacuum line to the brake booster went bad, the brakes would be really hard, but that does not explain the car accelerating. Better check the return spring on the throttle, unless you were using the cruise control. If the cruise control was on, you may have a problem with the brake switch above the pedal, which should have turned the cruise off. 04 Corolla "BRAKE" light on dash--comes on occasionally??

I wouldn't drive it... when your brake light comes on, it means there's a serious fault with your brakes. They may not engage when you brake and there won't be any further warning other than the brake light

Crake light warning light'

It could be a dirty WSS (wheel speed sensor). it is located in the left front wheel against the shaft. which means that you have to take the wheel , rotor, calipers and everything off. Before taking anything off, have the car scanned for a code. tell the person that your ABS warning light is coming on. The sensor canm also be replaced if it is the problem. If there are no other problems like spongy brakes, your brakes stop instantly without the anti lock system on, or other problems .It can be the WSS.
