Hello i have a problem with my odyssey 96 there is engine oil in the spark plugs 3 of them, do you think i have to get ride of it, o i cant fix it how? what do i neeed to buy?
Re: there is engine oil in the spark plugs 3 of them,
If the oil is not in the cylinder, and is just around the spark plug, then get a new valve cover gasket with grommets, and spark plug seals, and replace it,if it has oil in the cylinders,it should be smoking, when running, and using oil.

Hello Elize
It could be a lot of things and the fix could be just as simple as changing the engine oil. When the engine oil is not changed - it gets thick and causes starting problems.
1) Clean engine oil.
2) Need new spark plugs or re-gap the spark plugs.
3) Check ignition electrical systems
4) dirty air filter - change air filter
5) change the fuel filter
6) water in gas tank - put in some wood alcohol to remove the water in the gas tank.
1 fill the oil
2 check for spark in plugs
3 check for fuel supply
4 check cylinder compression with compression tester.
if any of those # fails need fix before moving to next one.
ok im not fully reading this because your words are not spelled right. redo this and i might be able to help you, i think i know what you are saying but not sure.
no engine stated? wow. 3.5L? says no gap settings. its in the FSM. many cars dont put it in the op guide as the plugs are rated to 80k miles or more, and is not consider, operator deal. sadly. and many folks think the new plugs are set in the factory , WRONG. (comment is for J plugs not surface fire tech)
i see you are there.! many stores, list it wrongly too.... vast.... but you never said country car was sold. in the USA we open the hood, look up and behold, its right there. the vacuum and turn up sticker, now alldata.com quotes to follow.........all. the original equipment spark plugs installed in the Odyssey 3.5L V-6 engine are platinum tip spark plugs, and the plug gap must not be adjusted. and other warnings, and the no file them warn.g On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, adjust the spark plug gap to 0.039-0.043 inches (1.0-1.1mm). On Odysseys with the V6 engine, check, but do not adjust the spark plug gap. The spark plug gap should be 0.039-0.043 inches (1.0-1.1mm). If the spark plug gap exceeds 0.051inches (1.3mm), replace the spark plug.
Do you see a huge oil puddle under the car after it sits overnight (it would be huge!)? If no then the engine is burning the oil, you don't see smoke because the catalytic converter burns it up.
you will need
8mm
10mm
5/8 spark plug socket
3/8 ratchet
3/8 extension (it could be 4in and longer)
and spark plugs factory plugs are pregap iridium
spark plug torque is 13.0 lb.ft
coil torque 8.7 lbf.ft
spark plug part # NGK 1zfr5k-11
# DENSO pkj16dr-m11
and spark plug anti seize on spark plug thread
what you need to do is remove the plastic cover 8mm socket or 10mm sockets
now remove the spark plug covers and remove the spark plug coils too 10mm head bolt you will need a 5/8 spark plug socket and a 3/8 ratchet and a 3/8's extension too
you need OEM spark plugs they work the best
hope this will help
they say 30 to 50k. i myself prefer 30k especially in older engines. usually i check the plugs at 10k to make sure they look alright. you changed wires too right? newer engine can go 50k60k.
My name is Chris. I have 20 years acura experience.
If you have some technical experience changing spark plugs before you can it on these.
procedure:
remove spark plug coil packs on top of valve covers. 8mm socket and ratchet.
twist coil packs and remove from cover/plug. use 6 inch 3/8 extention and 5/8 plug socket and ratchet...remove plugs from tube in valve cover. Use NGK plugs!!!!! or Nipondenso plugs only!!!! Nothing else.... trust me on this one.
However, I think your problem is more than just plugs. you need to explain what sound your are experiencing... please be detailed. when does it happen and how? does it have a check engine light?
does it run rough when you coast only?
Thanks.
