Locate the dip stick on the transmission its a very short one it on the front of the transmisson. Using a transmission funnel (it has a long skinny hose) pour fluid through the dipstick hole. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA, contact if you need more help

I have a 1992 honda accord and the brakes go to the floor but the brake pads and all are in very good condition?

If the fluid is full, and there is no leak, and you have not had to add fluid, the master cylinder may be bad.

check transmission fluid level- run/drive for about 10 min. , park car- check with engine running- add fluid if needed- ,if fluid NOT low- transmission filter needs to be changed

What is the best way to check the ATF of a 1992 honda accord

Drive the car around for a little bit, making sure you shift through all the gears. You can either leave the car running, or check the level on the transmission dipstick within one mintue of turning the car off. Add fluid as necessary, using DEXRON-II or better quality fluid.

If my car wont go into gear what could be the cause? When i got the 1992 honda accord lx i was having to start out in 2nd than 3rd now it wont shift and i cant go past 70 without it revving up.

Normally you should not be able to start the car without it being in 'Neutral' or 'Park'. First try changing the starter inhibitor switch on the transmission. Next check out the selector rod for the gear position, this connects between the bottom of gear selector and the input selector shaft on the transmission. Next check out you fluid level in the auto-box on the autobox fluid dipstick. If low you can add extra fluid by the dipstick tube. Ordinarily it is suggested that the fluid level is checked when the engine is running but in park.cannot start the car unless in gear I suggest you do not do this for safety reasons.

2.2 4cl what wt. oil----is there anything to quiet lifters---140,000 miles---my friend said 1/4 qt transmission fluid

Transmission fluid will clean out the engine but then I suggest using 3 quarts of 5w/30 and 1 quart of 20w/50 at your next oil change.

I have a 1992 honda accord and the rpms ump sometime

Sounds like a transmission problem, check your transmission fluid. See it's low, top off if you need to, observe the color and smell it to see if it smells burnt.

1992 Honda Accord 1992 honda accord doesnt shift gear smoothly

Number of miles since last transmission filter cleaning and transmission fluid replacement could have a strong impact.
Check the fluid level and fluid color and odor.
If level is ok, and color appears good (gold or red) and odor is NOT burnt smelling, then a clog in one of the pumps inside the transmission could be the culprit - take it to your local transmission shop.

If the fluid is any of the other issues listed above,
Drain the fluid (using a 4 dollar drill pump available at Harbor Freight) via the transmission dipstick tube. Now pour in an identical amount of new fluid (amount is not specified because you cannot get all the fluid out this way - so add only the amount that you are able to remove).

Put a few miles on it and it will be much better.

BTW - I assume that you have checked for the obvious vacuum leak - cracked vacuum hose, or disconnected hose....

How do i add gear oil to my transmission

You do not add gear oil to your transmission, you add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
