I have on 03 honda accord v6 coupe and before my problems started i heard squeeking when i accelerated while turning. Then my gears started to get **** and wouldnt shift. i would be in 1st gear and it would shift at 4500 rpms and **** the car. now im experiencing the car staying in 3rd gear. it wont down shift at all. i have looked around and saw that 01-03 models have had transmission problems. it only has 91k miles which is not bad for a honda. can someone please help me
Sounds like it could be the ECU (electronic control unit); easy to change. I have bought used ones a lot cheaper than new ones and work fine. Your year may be located under the glove box to the right behind panel (my older car was passenger side under the mat). They are easy to change out regardless of location.

Thats a common issue with the TCM when is about to go out.. Once you get to 3rd gear take you foot off the pedal the if you let go of the pedal and slowly accelerate it should go in 3rd gear. You can order a unit from this site with a lifetime warranty. Good Luck and the HONDA on the road.

That sounds like the 1st thing to check is the transmission fluid.Start the car ,warm it up,now shift through all the gears and stop in (N).With the engine running, check the fluid level.Top up if needed. If you do,look for leaks.Hope this helps
