I purchased a 2002 Range Rover Borrego recently.

I purchased a 2002 Range Rover Borrego edition recently. The car only has 19K original miles, but I am having a lot of trouble with the nav & radio. The nav flickers and won't display the menu, and the radio also only comes on with a soft volume level that cannot be adjusted. A dealer reinstalled the nav software, which cleared the issue for a few days. Now the nav is back to the same thing....Sometimes after the car has been driven for a while the nav and radio will initialize normally upon vehicle start--it is VERY odd. Thoughts?

I have experienced many electical demons with all my British cars. The nav units can and do fail. I had a goofy one this summer and the only way it got fixed was to replace it. The module not the head unit

Navtech makes and updates maps for most vehicles but they send you to www.navigation.com/landrover , enter model and year of car, updated maps can be purchased for most countries.

How to wire a range rover power seat

There are 4 electric motors under each seat and a 5th inside the back rest. Also under each seat is a module containing the relay and memory module It is possible to run new wires but the job will be much simpler if you have (or can get) a pair of original wiring harnesses to go between the module and the harness behind the centre console (remove ashtray, lighter and storage bin) Spade terminals can be used if the module is missing. Make sure the wiring colours all match.

Of course, this is a simplified explanation. Go to Rovers.net for more detail

We have very recently bought 2002 range rover hse td6 and have discovered an excessive oil leak coming from the turbo diesel inlet.....we have taken it back to the garage concerned who cleaned out pipework...

Hello, Lamnats491 -

If you purchased the 2002 Range Rover from an individual seller, and it was advertised "as is" or you did not have it inspected by an auto mechanic prior to completing the purchase, you may be stuck with paying to have the oil leak repaired. You still may wish to contact the seller, explain the situation, and ask him/her to pay for all or part of the repair.

If you purchased the Range Rover from an automobile dealer (a used car dealer or a new/used car dealer), contact the dealer and explain the oil leak situation. Most reputable dealers will have the problem fixed at their expense. If the dealer does not do that, they you know never to buy from that dealer again and you can post your comments on one or more of the many review websites, giving the dealer a negative review.

Bottom line: The oil leak needs to be repaired . . . and soon.
