I have a 2000 cadillac catera and I'm worried that if I spend a fortune to get all of the problems fixed, more problems will appear. My problems seems to be common with this model because when I looked it up, I found that I'm not the only one. My speedo stopped working and my dash is lit up like a christmas tree. The lights that are on are: check engine, abs and tc. I'm hearing that all of these problems are related to the ebtcm (electronic brake traction control module) If so, is this expensive to replace? and can I do it myself? What else could it be?

P0335 is a code for a faulty crank angle sensor. When this sensor starts going bad, usually the car will not start till it cools down, may cause rough running or no start at all. P0727 is a communication error between the engine control module and the transmission control module. Check for any bad connections between both modules.
radio with no sound is the radio interface in the trunk next to the amp..i just fixed one and that was the problem $5 at junkyard..not speedometer and dash lights all on is your ebtcm have it rebuilt new there $2000
GM had gauge cluster problems from 2000-2005.Bad stepper motors. On those units you have to replace the cluster or rebuild it with new stepper motors.Dealership fixed mine for $150.00
K134 Multifunction relay is on the driver side, inside the dash above the driver's left ankle (area). (2) panels need to be removed below the steering column to access this area. The first is a panel that matches your dash. The second is a cardboard panel with foam padding on it that encompasses the arms holding the brake pedal and accelerator. You'll then need to lay on your back on the floor board, head in first. Look for a gray box about 3" square by 1 1/2" thick. Push it 'up' off of it's mounting bracket to release. Unplug the wiring harness. Plug in new relay and re-mount.
Oil cooler under the intake plenum at rear top of engine is either bad or the gasket is gone. If you take oil filler cap off, you will see the paste on the cap. Are you going through coolant every so often?
try jiggling the steering wheel left and right as you turn the key. If you have another key for it, a copy or original, try it. If not the ignition cylinder is shot.
it is normal to have that paste stuff on the underside of your oil cap and some on the tube the cap goes on. this is condensation it goes to the highest points in the engine alot of short trips makes this worse
if the oil thats drained out looks like regular dirty old oil then dont worry about it
if it looks pastie white then you got trouble
