When you say it wont crank is it the engine will not turn over when you turn the key?? ,if so check your battery connections as i had one the other week and that was all its problem.Check all connections from the battery to the starter.Get your hands on a multimeter and check the earths ,all you do is set the meter to dc volts and connect either clip to the negative pole of the battery, probe the earths with the other one if you get a reading of over half a volt then you got a bad earth, alternatively you can check all the positive connections the same way.Let me know ok.

Why is Mazda Miata stumbling and missing after reaching closed loop?

Check compression. After spark and fuel, compression is next on older cars.

MX5 2003 1.8s Runs well but sometimes won't start. Not fuel starvation, feels like electrical. Turns over well then fires and stalls, may take another 5 attempts to get it to start. Never misses a beat...

Wish I could help!! My MX 5 has the same problem!! Tries to fire as soon as I turn the key, misses, then just cranks. This was a random occurrence until last week, then it decided it was not going to start at all. It will start fine with a push, then problem disappears again for a few days!! All I can think it is either a. coil pack, b. cam position sensor, or c. a relay somewhere in ignition or fuel system that is opening/closing to prevent engine running.....HELP!

Intermitten starting issues with 1993 Mazda MX5 Miata

Sounds like a heat sensitive sensor--either the crankshaft or camshaft unit. Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner, read any code(s), and pursue to repair(s).

Replacing front bumper of mazda mx5

It should only need little plastic pins and screws. You could get these at Auto Zone or another auto part store near you.

2001 mazda miata mx5 it dies as if gas not reaching to engine or engine over heat... just starts small jolts and then conks out... cleaned fuel line professionally engine heat indicator is at normal...

This does not sound to me like an overheating problem.
Most likely ignition related, cam angle sensor on this vehicle has common fault, you may need prof help.
