My engine light and trac off light is on. what does the trac off light mean?

The traction control system uses the engine to slow down or speed up the car when necessary.
If the check engine light is on the traction control will not work.
You may have a problem with both systems, but having the computers scanned for trouble codes will point you in the right direction.

2002 toyota avalon vsc and engine light stay on.

Hi, you have to use a scanner and pull the code out that is causing the check engine light to come on. whatever code/codes you find are probably related to vsc light.

Take care

How to reset the check engine light on a 1999 toyota avalon xls

You need to have a code reader/scan tool hooked up to retrieve the code/s that triggered the engine light. You can have this done at most auto parts stores for free. Try Auto zone, Checkers, Napa, or Murray's. The engine light will eventually go out if the computer does not receive any codes after many cycles turning the ignition on and off. It will not go out if there are codes still present. After you've retrieve the code/s bring them back here and we will have a better understanding of what caused them.

Trouble code p0125 insuficient coolant temp on 1999 toyota avalon

Many shops have a hand held pyrometer that can check actual engine temperature. you can get a rough idea what the temp is by using a thermometer taped to the upper radiator hose. Normal engine temp is generally in the 210degree (f) range. If it is at or close to that I'd change the temperature sending unit. If it is far below normal, check that the thermostat is not stuck open (replace if it is).

1998 Toyota Avalon Check engine light

should have an OBDII connection under the dash on the drivers side. Looks like an elongated computer port, probably has a cover on it that says OBDII. You can buy a code reader from an auto store like pepboys for around $100 i think. Just a side note, usually if the car is still driving ok and not acting weird, it is an emissions sensor.
