What is the fault code showing for the traction control system on a scan?

All dash lights should light with the key on/engine off

ALL dash lights should go out when the engine is running

If you have ANY Light lite,you have a possible system failure
& check for codes,diagnose them,component test & resolve

You can google your codes or Stabilitrac & read up

Read your owners manual

they make a special socket for it and it is on the block under the distributer cap its sideways with a wire clip on it

Problem could be a number of things:

1. worn or slick drive belt - drive belt slips and with AC on could cause stalling
2. bad MAF (mass air flow) sensor
3. dirty EGR valve
4. bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) - controls idling speeds under all conditions ie. engine is cold, warm, running with AC on
   

I take it that it's not working? 1 thing to keep in mind...if there are any check engine codes stored in the computer, te cruise control will be disabled. When this code is cleared out, the cruise control will work again.

the air cleaner is always connected to the throttle body with a large hose as theirs more than one different engine I'll just guess it's a 4.2 liter and there fore it's right in the middle of the motor with an elbow type hose connected to the air cleaner mounted to it.

VERY common problem on GM vehicles. They built the wheel speed sensor into the wheel bearing and have had nothing but trouble. Get the trouble codes read to find which wheel is setting the code. Then check the wiring. You'll probably have to replace the bearing/hub

This is very common, in fact GM issued an extended warranty on the gage clusters from 2003-2005. Unfortunately the extended warranty has expired. The cluster either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I know there are several companies that specialize in rebuilding them, but it takes 3-5 days and the vehicle is not drivable during that time and the repair is not cheap. I just checked and there is one on e-bay for $90 that may work for you. CHECK FOR POWER AND GROUND AT THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR THE AFFECTED BRAKE LIGHT. IF THAT CHECK OUT GOOD THEN CHECK THE BULB CONNECTION FOR BURNED CONNECTORS, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. LOOPING A TEST LIGHT FROM THE POWER TO THE GROUND CONNECTION AND HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN IT SHOULD LIGHT. IF IT DON'T THE CIRCUIT BOARD IS BAD.
