It is not in the trunk. It is on the left side, in front of the drivers door, just above the floor mat. Side panel if you want to call it such. What problems are you having? I have the same veh and all the manuals including wiring diagrams.
I believe my starter is going out 04 Lincoln LS v8 it does that click click sound when I try to start it and I've already check the battery and had it charged do you know where the starter is located and do you think I can replace it myself?

On most of Ford's line of vehicles, including lincoln, the inertia switch is normally located in the trunk, under a plastic or fabric cover. hope this will help
