When the light comes on on the dash, it usually means the airbag is turned off on the passenger side ( for baby seats) and when the bag is turned on again the light will go off. Sometimes however, the car can be in "eco mode" if it thinks there is a fault and will turn off anything it thinks will save power ie, dim head lamps, turn of radio, turn off airbags etc. If you haven't turned off the airbag make sure it is turned on if you don't use a baby seat and at your local garage they can run a diagnostic on the engine management to look for other faults and if there are none, turn off the dash light.
