LINCOLN: 2000-2001 LS
ISSUE: Some vehicles produced before 6/15/01 may exhibit an intermittent crank - no start condition with the following symptoms: Typically occurs after a short Hot Soak
"Theft" warning lamp flashing rapidly
No communication with the PCM during the condition
Instrument Cluster Module (ICM) may have DTC U1147 and/or U1262 stored
No ignition spark or injector pulse during the condition
The vehicle will start normally once the ignition key is cycled completely to the "OFF" position and restarted This may be caused by incorrect PCM initialization during start up caused by a sneak path of voltage to the PCM.
ACTION: Install Jumper Wiring Harness 1W4Z-13A612-AA on the vehicle. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

My 2004 lincoln ls v8 battery is completely dead the trunk button inside the car does not work or my key remote how do i suppose to get in my trunk to get to the battery so i can get my car jumped
use the key
same happened to me but i always leave my back seats unlocked. to greeninc, you cant use the key because that too is electrical. its a very very stupid setup on fords/lincolns part. atleast if you leave the seats unlocked you can crawl through and pull the handle, but with out that, you have to get under the car with jumper cables and hit the starter.

I appear to be having the same problem with my 2000 Lincoln LS V8 and don't have an answer yet either. I replaced my battery and now it only occurs occasionally. Do you have a new or fully charged battery? Did you have the starter checked?
